Ich bin alleine und ich weiß es (I'm alone and I know it)

You fill in the electro beats. I'm off to a gig night tonight called 'Plastic Pop Up Club'. It sounds twee enough for my tastes but as the kids here wearily intone - "mal sehen".

heh, weary german indie kids!

is Nena still big in germany? are they the Jimmy Barnes of Germany? if you see their hit debut album on vinyl can you get it for me?

they pretty much only stock vinyl here, which kind of sucks for we ladies of the 21st century travelling lightly, so there's a good chance.

But I've got to make friends with these people, will this purchase be the 'I got hitched to ABBA Gold' of conversation starters?

p.s. you're too old school Teutonic for me, Nena draws a blank.

possibly, i can't imagine the german kids think it cool. nena's hit song of the eighties "99 luftballons" is the only ever german-language worldwide number one. i can't imagine why. but i am obsessed with it of late, the singer has a kick-ass vocal style. i am informed that while they were one-hit wonders in the english speaking world, they are still popular in germany, though possibly not with the "mal sehen" crowd.
